81st Annual Meeting of the Transportation Research Board (TRB)

Geotechnical Applications of TDR and Fiber Optic Sensors
Sponsored by TRB Committees A2K01, Soils and Rock Instrumentation, and A2L01, Exploration and Classification of Earth Materials

TRB Committees A2K01 and A2L01 are co-sponsoring a session titled, "Geotechnical Applications of TDR and Fiber Optic Sensors" during the 81st Annual Meeting of the TRB in January, 2002.  The topics include the use of these technologies to measure: movements in cut slopes and landslide areas, embankment and fill settlements and other deformations, moisture conditions soils (including partially saturated soils), scour of bridge foundations, structural cracking and deformation in foundation systems, and soil contaminants. Papers describing implementation case studies are particularly encouraged. The papers may be for presentation only, or for both presentation and publication. Paper submission and review shall be in accordance with TRB guidelines, which can be found at the TRB website:

Paper must be submitted to TRB by August 1, 2001.
