TDR-L serves as an unmoderated discussion list for engineering professionals in the fields of physics, soil science and rock mechanics in academic, government and private organizations. It is a forum for the discussion and exchange of information regarding the use of time domain reflectometry in environmental, infrastructure and mining applications.
This list serves as an electronic extension of the vital networking that took place at the Symposium on Time Domain Reflectometry in Environmental, Infrastructure and Mining Applications held at Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois on September 8-9, 1994. This conference was co-sponsored by the Northwestern University Infrastructure Technology Institute, U.S. Bureau of Mines and Los Alamos National Laboratory. The next conference, TDR 2001: Innovative Applications of TDR Technology will be held at Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois on September 5-7, 2001.

TDR-L supports discussion of both optical and metallic technology and their response to changes in cable/fiber geometry and dielectric electric/transmission
properties. Announcements and other items of interest to TDR researchers are also encouraged.
