Mathew Kotowsky worked for the Institute as an undergraduate intern beginning in 2000 and became a staff member in 2003 after graduating from the University of Illinois with a BS in Computer Engineering. As a member of the Institute's Research Engineering Group (REG) Mr. Kotowsky works to develop, install, operate, and maintain autonomous remote structural health monitoring (SHM) systems for long-term, autonomous, continuous remote monitoring of civil infrastructure. Mr. Kotowsky also works with the rest of the REG to provide technical and educational support for the students and faculty in Northwestern's Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. Mr. Kotowsky is also provides Information Technology support for the Institute and its staff.
