Tracking the rEG: September, 2009

In September, ITI's REG made their second trip to Hurley, Wisconsin to complete the installation of a continuous remote monitoring system. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is installing a weigh-in-motion system near the USH-2 bridge over the Montreal River. The ITI REG will use that system along with its custom-built continuous remote monitoring system to quantify the effects of both normal and overweight truck traffic on the bridge. During this trip, REG engineers installed the data logging and communication equipment that will automatically record data from the bridge and display it on a secure web site in near-real-time. This project is the first of its kind in the nation. Launch Photos.
